In 2018 Pilot Studios made the news when our Kickstarter campaign to fund volume 1 of Always Punch Nazis was denounced by alt-right news site Breitbart. Instead of killing the project, Breitbart's article brought us national attention and propelled a Pilot project to unparalleled success.
We remain proud of the Breitbart article, not because of the contents of the article but because of what it says about us and how we are seen - as champions of social justice and decent human beings.
In perhaps our proudest moment, in 2019 we learned that Kickstarter management planned to kill Always Punch Nazis until a group of employees rebelled and fought for us. At least three people were fired over the internal Kickstarter rebellion, which led to the formation of Kickstarter United, which led to the first union at a tech company.
